TOMBALL, TX (KTRK/CNN) - Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the assault and attempted kidnapping of a woman at a Texas cemetery.
Charles Glaze, 53, sat in the county jail Monday night. Police said he caused terror in what's supposed to be a peaceful place.
According to investigators the attack happened at the Klein Memorial Cemetery in Tomball.
Detectives said a 48-year-old woman was visiting her son's grave site when Glaze assaulted her with a tazer.
Deputies said Glaze also showed a gun before tying the woman up with zip ties and a neck tie.
The woman put up a fight and managed to escape to a nearby fire department. Detectives said
Glaze just wasn't fit to fight.
"The victim continued to fight and wasn't going willingly,” Lt. Scott Spencer said. “The suspect had to carry the victim a long way from the scene and became fatigued with her fighting and eventually we believe just gave up."
It was a previous, similar incident that would eventually land Glaze in jail.
Another woman described her encounter on Mother's Day at a different cemetery with a man matching Glaze's description.
She said he chatted with her, she felt uneasy so she got his license plate number.
Detectives ran that plate and it came back to Glaze, and his red Ford pickup truck.
He was arrested in Houston, where detectives got a search warrant and spent their night collecting evidence.
