(CNN) - The TSA's expedited screening program is proving to be quite popular.
The TSA announced this week that five million people are enrolled in its PreCheck program.
PreCheck was launched in late 2013 to extradite airport screening for frequent travelers.
Any traveler can now pay $85 to participate in PreCheck for five years.
And PreCheck customers are typically allowed to leave their laptops in their carry-on luggage as well as keep their shoes on at checkpoints.
The TSA says programs like PreCheck help keep airport screening lines moving, particularly during busy travel periods.
