(CNN) - Legendary talk-show host Larry King revealed that he had surgery to treat lung cancer.
Though he hasn't smoked in 30 years, the 83-year-old told People Magazine he underwent surgery for lung cancer in July.
He said the scans revealed stage one lung cancer.
King's doctors attributed his lung cancer to his years of smoking three packs a day, despite stopping after his heart attack.
The father of five said the hurdle won't slow him down.
He continues to host new episodes of Larry King Now.
He hosted Larry King Live on CNN for 25 years.
