LITHIA, FL (WFTS/CNN) – A 7-foot gator was removed from a resident’s swimming pool on Wednesday by a licensed trapper.
The trapper, Robb Upthegrove, believes the large reptile was driven to Orlando Mora’s pool by heavy rains.

"We used to see them all the time. We just never thought we were going to see them in a swimming pool," Mora told WFTS.
Upthegrove treated the gator with respect before its trip to a gator farm. "We went through the usual procedure of wearing it down, we wear it down to protect the reptile so it won't get harmed when we capture it cause it don't know what we are going to do with it, " Upthegrove said.
He was able to round up the gator, tape its mouth, and get it ready for a trip to a more appropriate water hole.
