(RNN) – To celebrate the upcoming solar eclipse, Krispy Kreme is going dark – by turning their original glaze chocolate.
The mouth-watering chocolate glazed doughnuts will be available for a limited time, starting Aug. 19 and 20 during Hot Light evening hours.
The doughnuts then take over the store for all-day sales on Aug. 21, the day of the solar eclipse, which will be the United States’ best opportunity to see a total solar eclipse since 1979.
Krispy Kreme says this is the first time they’ve sold chocolate glazed doughnuts, but they have previously served green glazed doughnuts for St. Patrick’s Day.
