KABUL, AFGHANISTAN (Radio Free Liberty/CNN) - In Kabul, the Taliban is claiming responsibility for a deadly attack. A car bomb exploded during morning rush hour, killing at least 29 people, and injuring at least 40.
The Taliban says it was targeting a bus carrying staff of the Afghan intelligence. It's unclear if the victims were those being targeted.
A Taliban group in Pakistan has taken credit for a Monday blast that killed at least 26, and wounded 49 others, according to Pakistani officials.
Several thousand U.S. soldiers remain in Afghanistan trying to help government troops fend off the Taliban and ISIS forces.
