LOS ANGELES (KTLA/CNN) - Police in California arrested a man after an hours-long rooftop standoff early Friday morning.
The incident began with a dangerous high-speed chase in Los Angeles Thursday night.
The unidentified 30-year-old was accused of violently dragging his girlfriend in the street earlier in the day.
Reports also indicated he may be a kidnapping suspect.
The man fled from officers on foot after crashing his vehicle into a pole.
He ended up in a residential neighborhood on top of a roof.
At one point, police tossed a hose to him.
He drank some water and then tied the hose around his neck.
He then unwrapped the hose and continued pacing back and forth, sometimes taking a break to sit on the roof.
SWAT team officials were on the scene.
