JALALABAD, AFGHANISTAN (CNN) -  ISIS has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on a state-run television station in eastern Afghanistan. At least six people were killed.

Police say an explosion was heard after the attackers stormed the building.

Officials tell CNN one of the victims was an employee of the TV station.

Several thousand U.S. soldiers serve in Afghanistan trying to help the national government defeat Taliban and ISIS militants.
