HAWTHORNE, CA (KABC/CNN) - Nine people, including four children, were injured when a California police chase ended in a violent multi-vehicle accident.
At least four vehicles were involved in the collision, which was so bad that two people were trapped in the debris and had to be extricated by firefighters. The children were transported to a trauma center after the crash.
It happened on Thursday morning in the Los Angeles metro area.
Police say the case began after a burglary was reported near Manhattan Beach. So far, the condition of the individuals who were injured is unknown.
The driver of the car was taken into custody, KABC reported, but authorities say they are still looking for two people who got out of the vehicle while the chase was underway.
