BALTIMORE, MD (WJZ/CNN) - Four people, including a 2-year-old child, were injured when the washing machine drum they were using as a homemade fire pit exploded.
Two of the victims are in critical condition after the incident on Sunday night. A hazmat team responded to the scene.
Baltimore County said that a 65-year-old man and his 38-year-old son suffered serious injuries. The county said family members were sitting around the fire which was inside a washing machine drum. The drum, which contained wood, exploded.
Investigators said an accelerant caused the blast. A woman, 33, and the child have non life-threatening injuries, the county added.
