(CNN) – “How To Get Away With Murder” star Karla Souza said she was raped by a director in her native country of Mexico.
Souza told CNN En Espanol Tuesday the assault happened while she was filming on location.
The director "abused his power" by knocking on her hotel room door at odd hours and she felt she had no choice but to eventually "give in," Souza said.
But Souza declined to identify the director.
Televisa, a production company in Mexico, announced in a statement Tuesday evening that after a preliminary investigation, it decided to break ties with a director Gustavo Loza.
"I detach myself from any accusation against me by Televisa who today have accused me without foundation regarding Karla Souza which I deeply regret and openly condemn," Loza said in a tweet.
