GARLAND, TX (KTVT/CNN) - Flames broke out in the back of a house just an hour after the homeowner and his family from out of town had been celebrating Thanksgiving weekend. Neighbors called 911 when they noticed the flames around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
One neighbor said he saw the homeowner running out with his wife and kids. He also had his cousin’s child, the only person to make it out of the burning room. Two adults and two children, ages 5 and 2, could not get out.
“They were trapped inside. We were knocking on the window. We didn’t know if they were asleep or something, but I’m devastated to see two kids dying, and seeing a little kid saying, ‘Where’s my dad? Where’s my mom?’” the neighbor said.
