NEW YORK (CNN) – It’s playtime in the Big Apple.

Some 30,000 adults are at the New York Toy Fair, getting to know the hottest toys and games every kid will want in a few months.

"Every birthday party and next Christmas is happening right now," the President & CEO of the Toy Industry Association, Steve Pasierb, said.

Kids don’t even know they want these yet.

Pomsies are interactive plush toy pets. They’re fluffy adorable balls of fur that purr and can wrap around your wrist or ankle.

If you have a 4-year-old girl, pay attention.

The more you touch and play with it, the more the Pomsie reacts.

It sounds expensive, but goes for about $15.

“As technology evolves, and it gets cheaper for toy manufacturers to integrate into product," Adrienne Appell with the Toy Industry Association said. "It keeps the price point down."

And business is good.

“It has been up double digits two years ago, up last year,” she said.

Also popular are toilet humor games.

You can play with Poo-dough, pick up snot or blast toilet paper.

But if you’re going for less messy and more educational, there are toys for you too.

KD Interactive has a weird little robot with glowing digital eyes and eight sensors.

"My Loopy is a fun and quirky robot companion that also introduces early coding skills for kids as young as four," KD Group Strategic Director Eric Levin said.

The 3-inch tall interactive bot can be paired with an app. All the sensors help it interact with its human playmate.

“Have him say different things, and he'll have basic coding concepts built in, so they can kind of drag and drop, and learn the early basics of coding,” Linda Krebs with KD Interactive said.

In the end, the buyers walking the halls at the New York Toy Fair will decide what ends up on store shelves in the coming months.

The big kids are hoping to get it right for the little ones.
