(CNN) – Lawmakers may get the chance to question White House communications director Hope Hicks this week.
A source told CNN that Hicks is expected to appear behind closed doors before the House Intelligence Committee, which is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Hicks was interviewed in December as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into whether the Trump campaign aided Russia in meddling in the election.
She was also asked about her role in crafting a misleading statement about the Trump Tower meeting between President Donald Trump’s eldest son and a Russian lawyer.
Trump and other top officials have denied any wrongdoing.
A ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee said he’s unsure if Hicks “will answer completely” or will “stonewall” them.
