HIV-positive ex-school aide allegedly sexually assaulted 42 students

CHARLES COUNTY, MD (WJLA/CNN) - A former school aide and track coach who admitted to being HIV-positive has been hit with several more charges to his already lengthy indictment for sexual assault.

Carlos DeAngelo Bell faces 206 charges on accusations of sexually assaulting 42 underage students and recording it on video.

"Some of the evidence found included graphic evidence of Bell sexually assaulting victims," Charles County Sheriff Troy Berry said.

According to the state's attorney for Charles County, the victims range in age from 11 to 17 years old.

The state is not aware of any alleged victim testing positive for HIV, according to the state's attorney's office.

The alleged abuse spanned from May 2015 to June 2017. Bell was arrested in June following a six-month investigation.

"A student's parent observed suspicious text messages on their child's phone that were sexual in nature," Berry said.

Bell's original charges were for assaulting at least seven boys, mostly middle school age. The school district fired him when the investigation began in late 2016.

If found guilty, Bell could face life in prison.
