SAN JOSE, CA (CNN) – Surveillance video shows a driver hitting a 12-year-old girl crossing the street, and then taking off.
In the video, it appears that the light is green for both the driver and the girl
But as the driver turns left, she does not yield to the girl, and slams into her.
The car stops briefly before steering around the girl and leaving.
Another motorist coming from the other direction stopped to help the girl. She was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police are looking for the driver who hit the girl and are asking the public for help. The driver is described as a white woman in her 40s or 50s.
