BLAIR, NE (WOWT/CNN) - An angry letter targeting their children showed up in a Nebraska family's mailbox, and their mother is looking for answers to who left it and why.

The letter starts off, "Dear piece of s--- parents (like super P.O.S)," and from there it just gets worse.

The letter-writer mentions a recent knee surgery and a fall over the bicycles of Rylee and Lily Frye, who are 4 and 5 years old.

But their mother, Nichole Frye, said the bicycles weren't on the sidewalk, and that the language used in the letter is uncalled for and hateful.

The letter includes racial slurs, said the bicycles were thrown in a dumpster to teach the girls a lesson and the author wrote, "I hate children, thanks for giving me more reason."

"Just appalling that somebody would say those things about children," Nichole Frye said. "You should be ashamed of yourself for writing things like this about children. That's just horrible."

Frye reported the letter and bike theft to the police and hopes it was just an anger-fueled incident that doesn't happen again.

"I'm fearful that they might get too rageful and go after kids if they hate kids so much," Frye said. "Just don't leave letters like this in my mailbox, please. Or anyone's."

Frye said she does not know who wrote the letter and wished they would have talked to her in person.

Some of Frye's neighbors said they didn't agree with the letter and it is not indicative of their town.

"We don't need people like people like that in our community," one man said. "I hope that she has knee problems the rest of her life."
