(RNN) - H&M apologized Monday for using a black child to model a sweatshirt with the slogan, "coolest monkey in the jungle."

The image of the child wearing the hoodie appeared on the British version of H&M's online store.
Social Media users also pointed out a distinction between the wording on hoodies white child models wore from the same line, in comparison to that of the black child model.

H&M, which is based in Stockholm, issued an apology which said, "This image has now been removed from all H&M channels and we apologize to anyone this may have offended."
