SACRAMENTO, CA (KCRA/CNN) - Two Sacramento Police officers are expected to survive after they were shot on Thursday.
The shooting happened about 11 a.m. as police were trying to stop a vehicle that was being driven by a man wanted in connection with a double homicide.
The suspect initially appeared to be compliant and pulled to the side of the road, throwing his keys out the window. But then authorities say moments later he got out of his vehicle and started shooting at police.
One officer was shot in the chest, but the bullet ricocheted off his bullet-proof vest. The other officer was hit in the leg. Both are expected to survive.
The suspect was shot dead. His identity hasn't been released.
