(RNN) – A gorilla named Louis can often be seen at the Philadelphia Zoo, going about his day walking around like a human.
Instead of using his knuckles as a base to get around like most gorillas,18-year-old Louis has figured out a way to keep both his hands and snacks clean.
According to the zoo’s website, Louis has a history of being a germophobe. They said that despite his appearance of a tough male gorilla, Louis hates to get wet or for his hands and feet to be dirty.
The zoo said that Louis will run with only his legs across the yard to seek cover when he's caught out in a rainstorm.
Although gorillas occasionally walk on two legs (bipedal), it is less common. Not for Louis though - he can often be seen walking bipedal when his hands are full of snack or when the ground is muddy (so he doesn't get his hands dirty)! pic.twitter.com/6xrMQ1MU9S
