(RNN) - If you haven't gone home already, do so now. It's Friday, it's sunny and it's National Leave Work Early Day.
You've only got a few hours left, so hurry up already. Netflix beckons and there's probably time to get nine holes in before dark.
An employee productivity specialist came up with the idea to give a little treat to workers who often work more than 40 hours a week. It's celebrated every year on June 2, and you're supposed to finish all your work for the day and only leave after you get the blessings of all appropriate managerial authorities.
But if you work for an ogre, just shovel everything on your desk into a drawer, fake a coughing fit, point to your throat and croak to your coworkers that you'll see them Monday and beat it for the elevator.
The whole idea is to improve morale.
It's also National Doughnut Day, so consider stopping by Krispy Kreme on your way home before those guys all leave early.
If you're a lifeguard, a cop, a nurse. a firefighter - or a journalist - disregard this message. But have a doughnut.
