(CNN) - The Girl Scouts are known for camping, cookies and are working to become known for cybersecurity.
The century-old organization, which has more than 1.8 million Scouts, is promoting skills that will help women in the 21st century.
Already girls can achieve badges mastering stem activities: science, technology, engineering and math.
This fall the group will debut 18 new badges, including a cybersecurity badge.
For the younger Girl Scouts, this will include data privacy, cyberbullying and protecting themselves online.
Older members will learn how to code - become an ethical hacker - and build firewalls.
The Girl Scouts say it wants to narrow the gender gap in tech fields by exposing girls to the industry earlier.
That, they say, is especially so since cybersecurity work is in high demand.
