(RNN) – Fox Business Network has suspended host Charles Payne while the network investigates allegations of sexual harassment, according to multiple reports. Payne hosts ‘Making Money,’ and takes part in panels on other Fox programs.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Payne admitted to an extramarital affair with a married political analyst who has appeared on Fox.

According to the Times, the analyst alleges her appearances were cut back after she ended the affair.

The network said in a statement, "This matter is being thoroughly investigated and we are taking all of the appropriate steps to reach a resolution in a timely manner.”

Payne, who is married with children, joined FOX Business Network in October 2007 as a contributor.

Payne began his career on Wall Street as an analyst at E.F. Hutton in 1985. In 1991, he founded Wall Street Strategies, an independent stock market research firm. He published his first book entitled 'Be Smart, Act Fast, Get Rich' in May 2007, the network's website says.

Payne attended Minot State College, and Central Texas College during his time in the United States Air Force.

Fox has parted with several key figures in the past year amid sexual harassment claims.

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes left in 2016 after anchor Gretchen Carlson sued, saying she was terminated for rebuffing his advances. Ailes denied wrongdoing, even as more women came forward with their own claims about being harassed.

Bill O'Reilly, host of the highly-rated O'Reilly Factor, was also removed amid sexual harassment allegations.
