(RNN) - Humans aren't the only creatures displaced by flooding.

Southern Texas also has its share of alligators, and when the water rises, they seek higher ground just like people do.

That means they get in places where they don't belong and can cause trouble where they otherwise wouldn't.

The Gator Squad in Houston shared some pictures of alligators in non-alligator friendly places warning people of the danger and telling to leave the alligators alone.

The post said they will go away when the water does.

It was also shared as a warning by the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, which is southwest of Houston.
