WEST MIAMI-DADE, FL (WSVN/CNN) - A security guard died on Tuesday after a gate fell on him in Florida. The deadly accident took place on the grounds of the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition, WSVN reported.
The gate fell on the man as he was opening it to let a car in the facility at about 6 a.m., police said.
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition released a statement that said it was working with officials and was saddened by the death of a longtime employee. OSHA and local police are investigating.
A witness said the victim was shouting that she should pray for him. “He tells me, ‘Please, pray for me pray for me.’ All the time crying,” Nelly Martinez told WSVN.
