(WCBS/CNN) - A man answered a knock at the door, and a man posing as a UPS delivery person had a box behind him. But in the box he had a gun.
Police said a 53-year-old man was shot in the leg after answering a door for men posing as UPS workers.
They were let in the building by a man on the third floor who heard the buzzer.
Once they were let in, the victim and his wife said that the men were forcefully trying to open their apartment door.
He opened the door from the inside, which surprised the man, who shot him in the leg, the sheriff said.
The man, his wife and his son all say they had never seen the men before.
