SEATAC, WA (KCPQ/CNN) - An 83-year-old woman is recovering after being raped inside her assisted living facility near Seattle.
The suspect broke in through an open window and attacked her.
"The man over to her, hits her on the side of the head twice," King County Sheriff Sgt. Jason Houck said. "She kind of forgets what happens, but she does feel, at that point, that he sexually assaulted her."
News of the assault quickly spread to the senior community nearby the facility. Residents are particularly bothered that an arrest has not yet been made.
"He just has no conscience," Clarissa, a nearby resident said. "That's terrible. I mean, she's there for a reason."
Administration for the facility declined an interview, but did give a statement saying they are "not at liberty" to discuss the incident due to the privacy of the residents.
Security cameras are visible outside the facility, but the sheriff's office did not say whether there is video of the attack.
