RILEY TOWNSHIP MI (WXYZ/CNN) - A 73-year-old Michigan woman has died, after she was hit by a stray bullet that entered her home on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the woman was sitting at her kitchen table when suddenly a stray bullet entered the home and struck her.
A loud crack startled the victim’s husband and she collapsed immediately after.
Police say that the incident appears to be an accidental shooting, though a neighbor is now believed to be responsible
Detectives say the 21-year-old neighbor who was shooting target practice at that time may have missed a large pile of dirt he was firing at.
Police have seized at least two rifles from his home as the investigation continues.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Charges against the neighbor could be filed on Monday.
