(RNN) - The Great American Eclipse is coming to your local post office.
The U.S. Postal Service will be issuing special eclipse stamps that will transform when you touch them. The heat of your hand will change an image of the eclipsed sun into that of the moon.
The stamps are available starting Tuesday, and the release coincides with the summer solstice, the longest day of the year.
The solar eclipse will occur Aug. 21 across the United States, cutting a swath from Oregon to South Carolina. The entire U.S. will get a partial eclipse.
The image used in the stamp was taken by retired NASA astrophysicist Fred Espenak, who is known as "Mr. Eclipse." It was taken in Libya in 2006.
This is the first stamp issued by the post office using thermochromic ink.
The stamp can be purchased at the post office or online. The post office is encouraging people use the hashtag #EclipseStamps to share images on social media.
