FRIENDSWOOD, TX (KTRK/CNN) – She was one problem parent, police said
A mom is accused of showing up drunk to a junior high school play and assaulting an officer.
Police said Christy Churchwell was so loud, she disrupted the show at Friendswood Junior High School.
An officer reported he could smell the alcohol on the mom's breath, and she was so intoxicated, she could barely stand.
Police said once the officer took Churchwell outside she became aggressive, balling up her fist and charging at the officer.
She was arrested for public intoxication.
Police said while being arrested, Churchwell kicked an officer then she was slapped with an assault charge.
But investigators said the shenanigans didn't stop there.
Once Churchwell got to jail, she set off the sprinkler system in her cell, causing flooding and damages in the jail, police said.
