(CNN) - Get ready to see record-low gas prices at the pump over the Fourth of July weekend.
Gasbuddy.com is projecting a nationwide average of $2.21 a gallon, the lowest price for the holiday since 2005. It's also the first time in 17 years that gas prices will be lower on the Fourth of July than they were on New Year's Day.
The price of crude oil has been dropping due to oversupply concerns, while OPEC nations are cutting back nearly 2 million barrels a day.
Analysts are stunned by the dramatic turnaround, originally projecting gas prices to be near $3 a gallon this summer.
