SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KPIX/CNN) - A San Francisco police officer is in the hospital after he was hit by an SUV.
According to police, two officers were conducting an investigation on the edge of the Hayes Valley neighborhood when they saw a suspect in an SUV.
They believed the suspect had a gun.
Investigators said the suspect then drove the vehicle into one of the officers and fled the scene.
The officer was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
At last check, he was in surgery.
Authorities are now looking for the suspect.
Police have not released the name of the injured officer or given any details about the person they are now searching for.
