SEATTLE, WA (KOMO/CNN) – A visit to the Space Needle’s observation deck just got a lot more interesting, if you have the nerve.
Specially designed glass benches opened to the public this week.
The benches, called "sky-risers," allow visitors to take selfies as they lean back against a glass wall overlooking the city's landscape at 520 feet in the air.
Ten of the benches are ready now. There will be 14 more before the $100-million renovation is done.
The project is more than 80 percent complete, according to the folks at the Space Needle. They expect to have it done by July 4.
