(CNN) - Controversy has a classic ride at Disney parks worldwide getting revamped.
The Pirates of the Caribbean ride has long featured a scene that includes women lining up for a bride auction.
Some view the scene as sexist and outdated.
The resort said this week that it plans to replace the scene with a market auction instead.
The iconic red-headed woman who is among those being auctioned will be a female pirate in the reboot.
The changes are set to unveil at Disneyland Paris July 24 and at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Disneyland next year.
