WILKES-BARRE, PA (WNEP/CNN) - Two people were killed on Tuesday when a fire ripped through a high-rise building in Wilkes-Barre, PA. That's according to city officials.
Emergency responders were called out just after noon to the Lincoln Plaza high-rise building. Smoke could be seen pouring out of an apartment balcony.
The flames forced more than 150 people from their homes. The coroner says two women have died. WNEP identified the women as Gloria Nieves, 55, and Luann Gilroy, 62.
Officials are still investigating what caused the fire.
