Law enforcement is on the scene of a triple-fatal shooting in the parking lot of the Tallassee Walmart, according to Mayor Johnny Hammock, who called the situation a double-murder/suicide.
The mayor said it appears the unidentified shooter crashed his vehicle into another car in the parking lot, then shot multiple rounds into the vehicle.
One person in the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. A second victim, critically injured, died before a medical helicopter could make it to the scene.
After the attack, the shooter turned the gun on himself.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirms it is assisting with the investigation.
WSFA 12 News has a crew en route to the scene, located about 25 miles outside Montgomery.
