HENDERSON, NV (KTNV/CNN) – A mother in Nevada is speaking out after a daycare worker was caught on camera tossing her 5-year-old daughter.

Video of the daycare center Thursday shows the incident. A 5-year-old is seen playing by the door with a group of children when they start bickering.

The mother of the 5-year-old, who did not wish to be identified, says she believes the argument is what set off the daycare worker.

In the video, the worker walks over to the group and aggressively moves the 5-year-old. She starts to walk away, but as the girl moves to rejoin the group, the worker turns back around.

This time, she appears to throw the child a short distance.

"You just can't even believe that this is what you just saw that had happened to your child, that you weren't even notified about,” the girl’s mother said.

The mother says daycare management nonchalantly stated her child had bit her tongue. Later that night, she had a frank conversation with her daughter.

"She showed me how the teacher grabbed her, and she showed me how far the teacher threw her,” the mother said.

Management says the worker was fired as soon as she walked in the door Friday following the incident. According to the daycare, they did bring the incident to the attention of the child’s mother.

The 5-year-old’s mother reported what happened to police, and they are investigating the incident. She says her goal is to make sure the worker is permanently banned from caring for the vulnerable.

"Anybody who is older, anybody who is disabled, anybody who needs help, I don't want her to ever be in this line of work again,” the mother said.

The mother advises other parents to talk with their children and look for signs of possible abuse.
