CARTERET, NJ (CNN) - A police officer allegedly beating a teen after a chase.
The video shows the end of the pursuit, with officer Joseph Reiman getting out of his car and punching the teen repeatedly.
Reiman is the brother of Carteret Mayor Daniel Reiman, NBC 4 New York said.
Officials said it happened on May 31 after the 16-year-old drove away from police and then crashed his vehicle.
The officer was charged with aggravated assault and suspended from the force.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office released the dashcam footage Monday.
The teen was at first taken to the police department, but ended up needing an ambulance, WABC reported.
