HAVANA, CUBA (CNN) - Cuba is one of the Caribbean nations bracing for the wrath of Hurricane Irma. The Category 5 storm is packing potentially catastrophic winds of almost 185 mph.
It has already pounded islands in the Caribbean as it heads west. The National Hurricane Center predicts that Irma will move west along the northern coast of the island, before shifting more to the north toward the Florida Peninsula.
CNN's Patrick Oppmann has more about preparations in Havana, the capital of the communist nation.
