Couple knock themselves out attempting 'Dirty Dancing' move

(RNN) - A couple in the UK learned the hard way that the famous dance move from "Dirty Dancing" isn't that easy to pull off.

That's why Baby and Johnny practiced it in the water first.

Sharon Price and her fiance, Andy Price, who coincidentally have the same last name, were practicing the dance move in a pub garden in Weston-super-Mare when things took a turn for the "ouch."

The couple wanted to perform the dance move, which appeared in the climax of the 1987 film starring Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze, for their first dance as a married couple.

"We were about 30 feet apart and Sharon ran and I grabbed her hips and the next thing we knew we were flat out," Andy Price told the BBC.

"I can remember running towards Andy and then the next thing just struggling for breath and my back was hurting," Sharon said.

An ambulance rushed the two to the hospital, with Andy Price getting a neck brace and a CT scan.

Luckily, they seem to have escaped the collision with no lasting effects.

Though Sharon Price loves the film, and has watched it over and over, the couple now has no plans to recreate the lift, opting for a less dangerous first dance.

Hopefully, they'll have the time of their lives.
