(RNN) - A taxi company was having so much trouble getting a drunk guy home, they called the Tasmania Police for help.

Cops in Tasmania don’t usually provide chauffeur service for the utterly blasted, but “are always looking for a place of safety for anyone who is affected by alcohol,” Sgt. Craig Fox wrote on the department’s Facebook page.

They found out the guy’s address, took him home, dumped him in his bed and waited for a friend to come look after him.

The officers took the opportunity to record the moment with a selfie “in the likely event he could not remember how he got home.”

When the guy woke up the next morning and found the selfie, he was so overcome with love for his local police, he called them “bloody legends” on his Facebook page.

The police department took advantage of the massively trending social media post to offer some solid advice on how to prepare to party: Job 1 is getting a designated driver.
