(CNN) - Two years after Cecil the lion was killed in a National Park in Zimbabwe, his son Xanda was killed in a trophy hunt.
That's according to source familiar with the hunt.
It happened during a big game trophy hunt in western Zimbabwe in the Ngamo Forestry Area outside Hwange National Park.
It was led by a professional hunter and the client was a Spanish native.
The source said the hunt was legal and properly registered. The 6-year-old Xanda has been tracked by GPS since 2015.
Like Cecil, Xanda was killed after he and his pride wandered outside his sanctuary.
