PHOENIX (KNXV/CNN) - A cat that was stuck on a Phoenix power pole since Friday, is generating interest from around the nation.
The daring cat, named Gypsy, was finally rescued after being stuck on a utility pole for three days.
On Monday, more than 319,000 people tuned into a Facebook live video of the cat on top of the pole.
Phoenix Fire Department dispatchers said their system was clogged with hundreds of calls from across the country to send a rescue unit out.
Before help could arrive from a local utilities company, a neighbor decided to take matters into his own hands and rescue the cat himself.
Witnesses said Gyspy is safe and sound, but officials don't encourage others to do what the helpful neighbor did.
Officials said they recommend placing food and water at the base of the pole, so the animal can make its way down instead.
