VISALIA, CA (KFSN.CNN) - Emotions have not set in for the Fisher family after their loved one, Eric Fisher, was run over by a man and a woman in a car.
“I don’t understand how another human being could do that to someone,” said Eric Fisher’s wife, Alice Fisher.
Alice Fisher said her husband, called “Fish” by many, was doing yard work Saturday evening while two people across the street were arguing. Fish, according to neighbors, walked over and asked the two people to leave because he did not want them fighting while kids were out playing. That’s when the couple got in the car and, according to neighbors, ran Fish into a fence before taking off with him down the road.
His 8-year-old daughter witnessed it all, the victim’s wife said.
“She runs in five minutes later saying, ‘Mom, daddy is hurt.’ When I come out, my husband is underneath the tires, and I’m pleading and yelling at her (the driver),” Alice Fisher said. “‘Please. My husband is underneath the tires. Please stop.’ She just kept going.”
The two drove for about a block before Eric Fisher fell from underneath the car. He was rushed to the hospital, where his leg was amputated, and he later died.
His brother-in-law said the family just wants the suspects to turn themselves in.
“My brother Fish didn’t deserve this. No one deserves to die this way,” Juan Aleman said. “He was a good guy. All he ever wanted was to just help somebody.”
Police say they are investigating the incident as a homicide.
