BOSTON (RNN) – During a routine vehicle inspection at one of the entrances to Hanscom Air Force Base at 9 a.m. ET, security personnel discovered “potentially hazardous material” and shut the gate, WCVB reports.
Nearby buildings also were evacuated.
The Air Force base website says that “Security Forces detected a concern, which caused the base to put response actions in place."

Local media shows a blue, white and yellow box truck secured at the closed Vandenberg Gate.
The Massachusetts State Police’s bomb squad responded to the base where a box truck is secured.
No injuries are reported and emergency personnel are on the scene.
The airspace also has been cleared.
