BOSTON (WCVB/CNN) - A Boston-area man is charged with stabbing his parents and murdering his girlfriend. He was arraigned while cuffed to his hospital bed on Monday.
When police arrived at the Primavera restaurant in Millis, MA, on Saturday night, they found two victims suffering from stab wounds to their abdomens. The couple’s son was being restrained by other family members who had gathered for a birthday party.
Both victims suffered serious injuries but are expected to be okay.
The suspect, Benjamin Walsh, was combative and using profanities, police reports said. He reportedly yelled, “I’m going to kill you all.” He did not have shoes on, and a detective said his feet were filthy.
Relatives at the restaurant urged police to check on Walsh’s girlfriend, Olivia Bergstrom. Later that night the 20-year-old was found stabbed to death in the Needham apartment they shared.
Prosecutors on Monday said Walsh, 24, stabbed Bergstrom 13 times in her back. The Boston Globe reported he began to “weep loudly” when the specific charges related to Bergstrom were read.
