SAN DIEGO (KABC/CNN) - Prototypes for a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico are almost finished.
The eight mock-ups are in a Border Patrol enforcement zone of San Diego. Many of them are nearly 30 feet tall, comprised of concrete and steel.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said each prototype fell below the $50,000 budget.
Congress would still need to approve a $1.8 billion budget to officially begin construction.
The prototypes are expected to be tested for security at the end of next month.
