(RNN) - ‘Black Panther’ broke Marvel presale records when it aired during the College Football Playoff National Championship game, according to Fandango managing editor, Erik Davis.

The one-minute and a half preview featured new clips from the film which stars Chadwick Boseman who plays T’Challa (‘Black Panther’).
The new trailer debuted after Kendrick Lamar’s half-time performance. Lamar produced the soundtrack to the film.
Alongside Boseman, the movie features a star-studded cast which includes; Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out), Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and the list goes on.

'Black Panther' is directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) and premieres during Black History Month on Feb. 16.
