VAIL, CO (RNN) - A woman who reported a break-in soon learned that this was no ordinary burglary. It was a visit from a black bear looking for food and maybe a chance to play a little music.

After police concluded the suspect was probably a bear, Katie Hawley checked her security camera footage and was stunned to see the animal stop for a moment to pound the piano with its paws while gazing out the window.

The bear left only minor damage to the home and took its fair share of food from Hawley's freezer. Police said the animal hasn't been seen since.

Once the footage hit social media, it really struck a chord, with one of hundreds of commenters describing the bear's performance as "scary movie music" and another saying, "I've actually heard worse piano players. Kudos to the bear."

The Vail Police Department had its own fun with the incident, sending out the statement, "The chords captured on the video were unbearable and the tune was equally grizzly."
