GREEN BAY, WI (WBAY/CNN) - Green Bay fans got the chance to see a classic corvette that was once owned by legendary quarterback Bart Starr.
It was a big surprise for Packers' fans before the team's preseason game Thursday night.
The 1967 green Stingray convertible was on display in Lambeau Field's parking lot.
Starr was said to have received the car after winning MVP honors in the very first Super Bowl in 1967.
It is now owned by a classic car company, and it stirred up a lot of interest Thursday night.
"Some people are like, 'Are you sure it's his car?' I think there's been a little bit of skepticism whether or not it's his car because it was gone since back in the 80s,” Michael Anderson of Thunder Valley Classic Cars said. “All of a sudden some old guy from Minnesota shows up with the car, so yeah, a lot of enthusiasm over the car."
The display is part of a charitable effort that Bart Starr and his wife are involved with.
Rawhide takes vehicle donations to help fund programs that benefit at-risk youth in Wisconsin.
